ITER is scheduled to go first plasma in 2025 and it's pretty much on schedule and it will have 500 MW output but... it's designed as 100% experimental reactor, not actual power generation facility. Engineering experience learned from ITER will be then used to build actual power-generating fussion reactors but if it works I suppose this will be a quick and global switch as 35 countries participate in ITER with all intellectual property shared between participants.
