Any nuclear reactors operational today will shut down automatically without power and human intervention. How is that "high risk" technology, if you have thousands times more people killed and environment damaged by any other energy technology?

@kravietz @nicksellen The automatic shutdown might be fine, but still, Fukushima somehow had some problems, did it not.
And the storage of the waste. Of course there are concepts and some countries have realised them or are in the process. However, only time will tell how safe they are, and I speak about a long long time. And I know from my densely populated country how difficult it can be to find an appropriate place and I do not want to start with the costs (by the way, I doubt that all will be paid by the companies that operated the power plants).
Fukushima reactors were built in 70's in the middle of a seismic zone for God's sake! At the same time, there's like 440 nuclear other reactors in operation right now and they had no serious accidents, ever. Compare that with other sources of energy, and you really get the lowest death rate per MW.
