Here's a good thread on the actual science behind policing without unnecessary violence and abuse.
This topic seems to be well-researched with evidence-based solutions which *do* work in places where they were implemented.
Obviously, due to the fact that US is a federal republic, these policies are implemented selectively in different areas, and you never see the good examples in media...
