I can testify that in the UK almost nobody is wearing a mask (maybe 1 in 10 people do) with the main arguments being 1) govt never said we should, 2) we wouldn't look good.

You're right, although if you look at Czech it's very similar - are people wearing masks in Germany voluntarily? I know they did in Czech very early, while in the UK the message from the gov was always like "meh" and most people were like "why worry"...

@kravietz so, this is entirely anecdotal, and probably not representative because i haven't been out much ^^ In my (limited) experience, mask wearers only became the majority when the law was introduced. Also the law was introduced at the same time they decided to reopen some businesses, in order to mitigate the risk. That was last week, so we'll have to see how this plays out.

@kravietz To be fair, those graphs should include the day that masks were made mandatory. Here in Germany, i'd rather attribute the decline to the lockdown, because mandatory masks were introduced fairly recently.
