Lesson for future: schedule incompatible changes for a reasonable schedule, and just move on. If Python2 was scheduled in 2007 to go EOL in 2009, not only Python dev team would have twice the resources but every single distro that maintained parallel 2/3 packages for 13 years.

I don't remember when I rewrote all my project to Python 3 - perhaps a decade ago.

If you think you can run an application with no maintenance for decades... well, good luck.

@kravietz Racket is no longer Scheme, but it can compile Scheme ... R5RS (from 1998), R6RS and R7RS. Modules written in the many different languages implemented in Racket can call each other, including something so different as datalog, in native datalog syntax. There is even a package that implements py2, I don't know how faithfully. Python could do this too.

My fantasy project is implementing py2 in a language-oriented-programming for Python, the name of which escapes me right now.
