Scientists Discover Protein in a Meteorite: this is the first report of a protein from any extra-terrestrial source https://futurism.com/the-byte/scientists-discover-protein-meteorite
@kravietz mmm. I wonder if they deliver from space π?
Hopefully not just drive thru lol
@Wetrix
Maybe there's life on Earth after coronavirus LOL!
@kravietz yeah the corona hysteria is really ramping up hey π
I bet Corona beer is loving all the free publicity hehe
@Wetrix
I read sales of Corona in the US declined because of the association with the virus :)
@kravietz I'd believe it.
The common cold is more deadly than the Corona virus, I'm sitting back watching the media whip everyone into a mass hysteria for ratings and money.
@Wetrix
Flu mortality rate is 0.1%, coronavirus is 2.3% so it's 23x more deadly.
https://www.livescience.com/new-coronavirus-compare-with-flu.html
@kravietz agreed, but the common cold kills 650k people a year and there's still no cure.
I think the facts behind corona have been so blown out of proportion that we don't know the real facts yet.
The media is loving it and creating mass hysteria (interrupting there usual main feed of of we're all dying to global warming and Trump is going to kill us all etc) π
@Wetrix
Flu is well known and seasonal. Covid-19 seems to be way more infectious and more deadly so if it spreads, it has potential to kill way more than flu, so it deserves some attention. I don't usually watch any media so can't say if they indeed blow it out of proportion :)
@kravietz I don't watch TV period but I read alot πΊπβοΈ
The media is loving the Corona virus. Nothing boosts ratings like the latest "WE'RE ALL GOING TO DIE!" trend π
What's been lately?π€
Global warming Trump
Kim Jung IL
Russia (always a favorite)
The ozone layer (90's hysteria)
Nuclear war (80's baby)!!!!
SARS
Oh the list goes on and on π
@Wetrix
OK, so I'll just stick to not watching it ;)
@kravietz we got bigger problems them Corona. Like today turkey let 76,000 migrants to storm Greece and there's 3 MILLION more refugees coming.
You want to see how fast the eu forgets about Corona when mass migration wars start?
Sit back & watch ππ
@Wetrix It's just 0.6% of EU population so *if* the member states acted together it can be easily absorbed.
Looking however example of my home country of Poland who essentially went into a full hysteric spin about it a few years ago, I have a feeling any problems will be entirely self-created.
@kravietz yeah if u read that article it's already happening.
Let's not forget this is all happening due to the new war between Syria and turkey. Turkey declared war and shot down planes and tanks.
And Syria is backed by Russia and in retaliation to the eu turkey has said it will let all 3 million refugees flood the eu and won't stop it this time.
Oh right. The Corona virus hehe. Almost forgot ππ€
That's a simple carrot and stick tactics. Russia has been bombing civilians to push them towards EU and saying "hey, just let us in and we'll bring order".
Rather than dealing with the source of the problem - being Assad and Putin - EU just paid Erdogan to keep the refugees in Turkey.
But this only encouraged these two to go even further, which is probably why Turkey started the offensive and opened the borders to let EU deal with the problem it's partially responsible for.
And it really was a self-created problem from the very beginning.
For the last 5 years Russia and Assad were bombing hospitals and refugee camps, and EU just looked and issued silly "oh, could be this the last time you did this" notes.
Mostly because Germany wants to resell Russian gas and oil in EU, and any regime change in Syria could result in a competing pipeline being created.
@kravietz oh yes I agree. Fun times are ahead. Especially if the eu and Russia get really involved.
Russia can't really "get involved" with anyone as it has no economy to sustain any serious conflict. Putin has backed off when Erdogan shot down its Su-24 in 2015, and when USA decimated Russian soldiers in 2018. Unfortunately, this is the only language he understands.
@kravietz very true. Europe has seen to much war as it is.
"chains of glycine and hydroxy-glycine residues terminated by iron atoms, with additional oxygen and lithium atoms (...) The molecule is tipped by an iron-oxygen-iron grouping that in other terrestrial contexts has been proposed to be capable of absorbing photons and splitting water into hydroxyl and hydrogen moieties"
