DNS over HTTPS Will Give You Back Privacy that Big ISPs Fought to Take Away
An absurd thing is happening in the halls of Congress. Major ISPs such as Comcast, AT&T, and Verizon are banging on the doors of legislators to stop the deployment of DNS over HTTPS (DoH), a technology that will give users one of the biggest upgrades to their Internet privacy and security since...
@ScottMortimer Sadly the end-result is not certain, will we be swapping ISPs for Cloudflare and Google?
@ScottMortimer @saper The thing is that if any was able to choose here, they've chosen already - DoH/DoT aren't new after all. The battle now is about the *default* settings...
@ScottMortimer @saper I did already and Nextdns is definitely one of the best and most comprehensive out there. Now I just use my own DoT resolver on the Internet.
@ScottMortimer @saper Oh nothing special, Knot Resolver with DoT on one of my servers.
And you are correct about the early adopter list of providers that will be available. Just know that it's not going to limit anyone with a bit of experience in technology from making the choices that are right for them. The only ones who will always be constrained are those who are completely at the mercy of their ISP or government.
