@gerowen most people will see this and still buy the camera security system, just from a different company. I wish folks thought before introducing the #surveillance tech into their homes.
@joshbdoc I've considered rolling my own; I've got an old spare server here. I could get some regular cameras, stick a capture card in it and rig up something, maybe with OBS Studio, and a basic webserver for viewing the footage. Haven't buckled down and done it yet though.
