Once upon a time I used pirated software to make music. I made a lot of music with this software and I have kept all of the project files.
When I grew up, I went to University for audio engineering and learned pirating software is a very bad thing; so I stopped doing it. I decided if I ever wanted to work on those projects again I would need to purchase a valid license for the software.
I'm ready now--but I'm worried that I'll buy a license and my old projects won't work. 😧
@Matter @nebunez I would agree here that "copying software" is fine and OK if you need to test it out and see if your project files even still work if your intention is to purchase the software. I would also say that I've seen a lot more #FOSS music software around, which is great, and am also excited to muck around with #VCVRack soon :)
