@hund @victoria @selea @oscarhall actually i use arch by the way and arch is excellent because it is rolling release you mean you reinstall your os regularly? with arch you do not need to do this!!! and on arch you dont need to un install softwares which are for noob computer users like gnu/gnome and aptitude because on arch i have pacman and can install what ever i want (A K A i3 and vim with polybar, it is important to be efficient! so yes really it is all down to personal taste but if you care about using your computer in a efficient way which is not for beginners than arch is really the only choice, its difficult for beginners though so be careful you might not be as good as me and then you will find it difficult to use arch, but i dont find it difficult to use arch because i use arch everyday!!

This whole Mastodon fork of Gab is basically playing out like "Steamed Hams." Watch Torba try to pass off his site's complete lack of functionality as Aurora Borealis.

cloudflare being down taking down like half the internet is a good example of why centralization is bad

Sorry about the brief downtime last night guys 😦 Some billing issues with our hosting provider. Everything's running great now!

This Washington Post article about how "Google’s web browser has become spy software" contains 11 megabytes of ad cruft and includes invasive trackers from at least 20 domains, including Google, the subject of the article. Of course there is no disclosure. washingtonpost.com/technology/

Hello all,

I'm interested in , and concerned about the danger of and in technology and elsewhere.

I've been a user since 1998, and a contributor since 2005. My $dayjob is with though not on any product or ads teams, and I actually get to work with, and contribute to, projects.

See my profile for my other accounts. Looking forward to conversing here!

Updated social.privacytools.io to v2.9.1

Another day another Mastodon update! 🎉

You can now upload audio files I guess. Also some moderation changes/improvements, and various fixes. You can read the full changelog here: github.com/tootsuite/mastodon/

@dansup sorry to bother you again but if you could point me in the direction of any log files that'd help me with something like this that'd be great (can't upload images now even though I could before).

For some reason I just can't find where anything is stored 😅

@dansup quick question, any reason I'd get an error immediately after registration on my instance? (After navigating to another page and resending the email I'll get it and it works fine, but the verification email isn't immediately sent)

If you're not voting because you don't want to vote for the lesser of two evils, that's effectively half a vote for the greater of two evils.

(This argument stolen from Hank Green.)

things I don't have time for pt 3

because here's the thing I ask people to stop all the time and NORMAL people will go "ok"

But *these* people get very mad and decide they can't ever show their face in a community again because they had one opinion people didn't like. So whatever, not gonna stop ya from leaving.
