@connor I’ve actually been using it on my laptop for months so it’s not actually as big a deal as I’m making it out to be 😜

That being said the beta has been pretty great, although it seems like a lot of apps still are not compatible with the new requirements.

I’ve just been waiting for the final release to install it on my iMac. This will also be the first time I’ve done a Mojave to Catalina upgrade since on my MacBook I wiped everything. So we’ll see how that works out, 17 mins remaining...

Image loading issues on instance 

Hello! Just wanted to let you all know that if you are or have been seeing image/media loading errors that is being investigated. We use Wasabi for media storage on the backend and it appears that they are experiencing performance issues on their side (status.wasabi.com). Clicking images to load them manually or refreshing the page should help.

Funny how nobody warning about DoH ever notices that "organisations" could indeed run their own DoH/DoT servers and implement any policy they like bleepingcomputer.com/news/secu

Main limitation being of course that it would require ten year long transition program as your whole "organisational" DNS runs on some ancient crap commercial or cloud nameserver, who only heard about DoH/DoT in 2019 and it's just as new to them as say IPv6

@glitcher32 @greyor @Wetrix or without S3 we’d at least have to pay for more storage, maybe +$5-10/month worth instead of basically $0 with Wasabi. If we were actually meeting our Liberapay goal I would reconsider hosting more things. Same goes for PeerTube. (I’m also not convinced privacy-centric folks want an Instagram alternative but I could be wrong).

@glitcher32 @greyor @Wetrix we are waiting for proper S3 support, and we are waiting for it to be less buggy. There’s still a lot of issues with it (last I tried a few months ago) especially with federation that would make it hard to run a stable community. Mastodon is at least fully functional (and you can share images here in the meantime).
