Update: Mastodon v2.9.3
We're now live on v2.9.3! Changelog posted to https://github.com/tootsuite/mastodon/releases/tag/v2.9.3
Let me know if you run into any issues or have any questions!
@Yeet got em all, it happens sometimes, this is why I considered going invite-only a while back. Just report them when you see them, we respond to all reports.
Idk if anyone still uses Twitter but the #GrapheneOS project would appreciate some attention about the theft of their former Twitter account. If anyone does and would RT https://twitter.com/JonahAragon/status/1161414978114662404 and the posts in Micay's thread that'd be great.
@darylsun in all seriousness, Automattic is a pretty cool company, and Tumblr has been mismanaged since... forever. Maybe they'll fix that.
@darylsun for less than 3 million dollars. Yahoo wiped out over a billion dollars of net worth by banning furry porn lmao
@one forget I asked
@FluhartyML I think it depends on the Pixelfed instance in particular. At the moment ActivityFed federation is optional (and maybe disabled by default) in Pixelfed, so the instance admin would have to enable it themselves.
@one what is this
@ButterflyOfFire did you check your spam folder? I'll check in a couple hours, although we currently don't have anything on Weblate to be translated. That's coming soon! 😃

Anyone want to help privacytools.io with some somewhat tedious tasks? 😆
I'm trying to add i18n support to the site so we can get some translations up! But it means I need pretty much every English string to be copied to a separate file to be translated. Info @ https://github.com/privacytoolsIO/privacytools.io/issues/1106
@c1t1z3n0n3 that sounds pretty neat! Let me know if we can help out in any way.
@Yeet thank you! You’re wonderful lol
You can either leave a comment on this issue and I’ll handle it when I get a chance:
https://github.com/privacytoolsIO/privacytools.io/issues/1106
Or, you can open a Pull Request here:
https://github.com/privacytoolsIO/privacytools.io/pulls (when you do so, make sure you change the branch from “master” to “i18n” at the top, like the screenshot in my issue).

@Yeet I updated the issue if that's more helpful at all. Otherwise this is fantastic! Thank you for helping out 😃 I would have been very sad if I had to do *everything* myself lol
@FluhartyML honestly having used Google Assistant and Alexa, they aren't even amazingly convenient lol — you still have to phrase things in a particular way and it isn't much faster than just using a remote app on your phone or tablet really.
@Yeet 🙏 Thanks! Two quick things. 1) I want to use underscores instead of dashes/spaces in en.yml. 2) I forgot to mention and this is my bad but the {%t tags don't actually work in the include cards.
Take a look at what I did here to work around that (https://github.com/privacytoolsIO/privacytools.io/blob/i18n/_includes/sections/resources.html#L5) and then here (https://github.com/privacytoolsIO/privacytools.io/blob/i18n/_includes/sections/resources.html#L21) and tell me if that makes any sense to you. I'll add that info to the issue page.
@FluhartyML for providers? Seeing as I provide hosting I might be a bit biased! 😜 I'm at https://nablahost.com/services/activitypub-hosting/ — I've also heard good things about masto.host, they're pretty popular.
@FluhartyML the docs at https://docs.joinmastodon.org/administration/installation/ are pretty decent and thorough tbh. You could also pay a provider to set up an instance for you.
#PrivacyTools Administrator, #OpenNIC Operator, macOS and Linux user, maybe some other stuff too?
