What happened to Switching Social?
@danarel Unknown. The original author was anonymous, but all accounts and the site was shut down around the 20th of September. Since then, @tobias has mirrored the page on https://switching.software. Apparently he's gotten the endorsement of the original swithcing.social author, as the shuttered switching.social Twitter account has "Visit Switching.Software" in it's header. Hopefully @switchingsoftware will be able to maintain the list going forward.
@mike Actually I just registered that Twitter handle before someone else did and did less than helpful things with it 😬
The @switchingsoftware guy seemed legit though & was working with the original creator on the German translation so it should be good.
@jonah Hmm, my mistake. I saw that Twitter handle and verified it was on the switching.social sight back to January. I assumed it was the original owners.
@mike @switchingsoftware it was, but they not only disappeared but deleted all their accounts in the process so it was unclaimed. I figured it wouldn’t be good for some random party to register it and start advertising things or something 🤷♂️
