@OneSubtractOne @Wetrix it does matter somewhat, because when you move to another instance your followers don’t move with you automatically (even if you setup the account redirect).

You also are stuck with your instance’s rules, and if your instance is domain blocked somewhere that affects you. Which is why I suggest people run their own instance whenever possible. But then you miss out on good local timelines like PTIO’s 😅🤷‍♂️ (I guess you could be like @one / @one@mstdn.io and have a million alt accts)
