There has been a fight for the right to be online (in part to push for Internet in rural America & for the poor). Superficially that's fair, but the problem is govs already operate with the assumption that people are online. So people are being forced to use & trust svcs from dubious gov-admin'd sites (e.g. #Cloudflare). How can I opt out? Now we need a right to be *offline*.
Safer than say, the stock OS, using their App Store
From a privacy standpoint, is it safer to get a Samsung or xiaomi phone and put something like lineage on it? Itās been years since I put a third party OS on my phone.
It's over 2 decades old, but I love playing the original Half-Life

It's often assumed that because Twitter has a larger userbase than the Fediverse, that accounts would automatically get more followers there.
However, many accounts (especially FOSS projects) have more followers here on the Fediverse.

@Minetest has 1.39k vs 785 on Twitter

When I talk to friends and coworkers about online privacy, I feel like someone who should be wearing a tinfoil hat, a conspiracy theorist a-la far left or far rightists. Some times it makes me step back and thinkā¦ am I blinded?
But no, Iām reminded that online privacy needs to be a basic human right.
