I often wonder what my social interactions would be like if there weren’t the option to check out via your phone, even for 30 seconds.

@Obscurequokka it’s good, I’m on book 4. It’s a fantasy series, but not heavy on the magic / far fetched kind of stuff, which i like. Plot can take a bit to build but pays off.

@joshbdoc I’ll have to check it out. Group therapy has been my go to podcast for quite some time, so maybe it’s time to get back into some DnB

This outage is NOT helping my case with the folks i just had switch. Some went back to WhatsApp already.

@TheDoctor ha. I wanted the easy button but yeah i could do it

@TheDoctor i wasn’t aware of what COPR was until now, but that may be an option. My fear was only that other folks who aren’t on the signal dev team have their hands in at least part of the code. I just want to trust my sources, especially when it comes to something that should be encrypted and protect privacy. COPR May be the way to go.

@Marno that’s good. Unfortunately I’m not Debian based. Snap didn’t work, but flatpak did.

@Obscurequokka i hear you, and i try to do this. There’s no moderates anymore, or maybe they’re just lost in the sauce... silent among the screaming for fear of retribution.

Can I trust flatpack on ? I'm hesitant to use something that isn't from the official site / repository.

@mistermonster that’s awesome. Do i just have to find the right Peertube instance to follow / comment on inside mastodon?

@Obscurequokka that’s a good point. I’m curious to see if this stresses signal and telegram.

@cirno I would love it. Read a book, run, hike, meditate. Of course this assumes i had nothing else to do that day

One thing that’s coming out of the US shutting down conservative platforms is the sudden flood of interest in privacy tools. I have no proof but i feel like it’s happening. Thoughts, anyone?
