@freddy The irony of visiting that article is the 17 trackers my ad blocker picked up

@harrismcc good question. I do remember reading about it, but I do t recall if it’s shared. I DO remember reading that it will be increasing. I’ll post link if I can find.

ProtonMail now has a beta of their secure cloud storage, proton drive. I got early access as a subscriber and can say it looks promising.

I wish I had the convenience of a desktop sync app, but I’ll take what I can get for now. No more indexing of my data.

Even a VPN is too much for my coworkers to bother with.

I wish privacy was easier online for the masses. It’s such a balancing act between knowing what’s being collected / staying informed and anonymous, and features you want to use.

These days feature xyz is so desirable that most really don’t care what’s collected. It also takes effort to know what’s being collected and how it’s used and people just don’t bother.

Seems to me if mastodon becomes increasingly popular, something will have to be done about the “all” tab - I’m just trying to imagine seeing every tweet in twitter in real time. Madness.

@simpletech looks interesting, wish it was out of beta so I could try it out.

Another newb question. I feel compelled to stay on topic with privacy posts here. Is it more appropriate to post rando topics on another server (like “I liked movie yyyy”)

@harrismcc thanks, I ended up trying out Mast since I’m on iOS. I’ll keep Tusky in mind if I swap back to my Android.

Hey all I'm new here, first toot. What's everyone's preferred way to access via their phone?
