@gritnot whatsapp is losing tons of people which is great imo 🙂 maybe signal is just having problems atm because of the mass influx of new people 🆕📶

@gritnot These folks don't care enough and would return to WhatsApp or some other big tech garbage anyway.
@gritnot Yeah, I think the only reason people stick with it will be if there are enough hard-liners. For example, I made it very clear I intend to leave WhatsApp and pointed people towards Signal saying I would be more responsive there. I then actually followed through on that and answered questions as they came up.
But yeah, if Signal can get through this with most of the new sign-ups retained, it should be smooth sailing from here.
