ProtonMail now has a beta of their secure cloud storage, proton drive. I got early access as a subscriber and can say it looks promising.
I wish I had the convenience of a desktop sync app, but I’ll take what I can get for now. No more indexing of my data.
@harrismcc good question. I do remember reading about it, but I do t recall if it’s shared. I DO remember reading that it will be increasing. I’ll post link if I can find.
@gritnot Oh perfect thank you. I can see a situation where it would be really expensive for them to have more space for everyone on the drive, even if it's a paid-only feature. I do think that they're angle of using it specifically for a smaller set of highly sensitive files makes good sense.
@gritnot poor free user 😂
@gritnot hi grit!
I don't use any cloud services. I use proton mail but I won't touch their cloud service.
@Wetrix any reason? Too new?
@Wetrix or just clouds in general?
@gritnot I don't touch any cloud services. Simply because of security and privacy ☁️😊
There isn't a cloud in the world that's more secure or private than your own hardware.
@gritnot I hope ProtonDrive actually turns out alright, don't really get the hype but I just want them to do well as a company even if I don't like them.
@gritnot That's exiting, I just started using their calendar and it's amazing! Do you know if if their cloud storage is tied to the data cap for the email plan (aka 5 GB for 'plus') or is it a separate pool/cap?
