I will no longer be using anything that requires a phone number. (Such as Signal or Telegram)

The virtual phone number I used for years from TextNow was magically taken away from me.

There goes any account with that number on it, and TextNow makes it impossible to signup or even login using a VPN or staying anonymous.

Just like if someones company uses Google, I will refuse to use it.

@glitcher32 phone numbers as IDs are horrible indeed. Especially when services sometimes intentionally block throwaway numbers from being used for registering! (eg Telegram blocks some Google Voice numbers).

Kind of effed up to have the same identifier you're forced to give away to companies to get services as part of online identities - good game, now you can't be anonymous. Harder to get throwaway phone numbers than anonymized email handles after all.
