any recommendation for usb 3 flash drive 256gb, or a external 1T drive? i want good quality. this is for Mac, but i can reformat. linux nerd review link also appreciated.

I tend to go for Kingston. I have a metal one that has stood up to a lot of punishment. SanDisk also seem to know what they are doing.
@xahlee Kingston is a much more trusted brand, but the iStorage might have the more space you're looking for. But I think thats only for the encrypted keypad ones. Kingston might have bigger storage devices on their website.
