My revolution is entirely boring.
Minimize my participation in systems that hurt
Maximize participation in systems I support
Save resources & money
Gather and practice skills
Buy as local as possible *when possible
Volunteer for community events, political candidates that help humans,
Mutual support of aligned people
Actions
Don't own more than I need
Don't desire what is inaccessible to most
Stay realistic by focusing on money and actions instead of words
So boring I can do this daily
@Food
effectiveness is boring, that's why i like the boring things
Traditional publishers want to keep digital textbook prices high by using restrictive DRMs to create an artificial scarcity.
In a time of growing inequity, we need education to be accessible to all. #OAWeek2020 https://www.eff.org/deeplinks/2020/10/open-education-and-artificial-scarcity-hard-times

@Breakfastisready
i'm physician but in my spare time i teach mathematics (i have no degree, i'm just a passionate hobbyist) to youngs who want to go to college... whenever someone try to ask about fast mental calculations i say: hey, do you know that calculator already exists, don't you ?
Whining
@Breakfastisready
perhaps that's due to the limitations and narrow scope of mathematical education that lay people have, which wakes them believe that mathematics is only about doing fast mental calculation...

I think the most irritating part of being a mathematician is when you are asked to do an arithmetic calculation. If you get it wrong or take too long, everyone starts questioning your career choice.
For God's sake, there are a thousand reasons why any mathematician could quit the profession and being slow at calculations is the least one of them!
