How often do you use #XMPP / #Jabber?
I don't mean chatting in #deepWeb, but in #clearnet.

I very rarely use it. I have the impression that no one else uses XMPP except deepweb-people. Although a couple of years ago I' ve been using it more than the proprietary #Telegram. And then a lot of naive people were influenced by Telegram's marketing about its #privacy and #security.... 😒
@TheFuzzStone I use it every day to chat with friends and family. There is a nice (but unknown) XMPP client called Pix-Art Messenger that makes creating an XMPP account and using OMEMO a breeze!
@gandalf86, I looked at the screenshots of Pix-Art Messenger and remembered Conversation. Is that a fork?
@TheFuzzStone Yep it's a more user friendly fork of Conversations that has the important feature of allowing new users to select a server for creating a new account from a dropdown list, so they don't have to do research themselves. Having to choose your own server is what makes federation difficult for many people in practice.
