This whole Mastodon fork of Gab is basically playing out like "Steamed Hams." Watch Torba try to pass off his site's complete lack of functionality as Aurora Borealis.

Our reaction to Gab joining the fediverse:

- Blocked Gab domains

If nazis are so upset that apps are blocking their domains, why don’t they prove their supposed superiority by writing their own software?

I don’t understand this perceived necessity of giving nazis a platform. If your ethic framework allows this, you’re not ethical. Period.

What's a polite way to tell someone on a forum they need to stop posting 30 threads a day with "is X a good app?" or "Is X a safe app to use?"

100% exited.eu is a Gab instance, even if claiming to be single user. Pepe the frog avi, and GAB displayed prominently in their header.

This should be blocked by all. Gab needs to be totally isolated in the Fediverse and not allowed to participate at all.

I came to Mastodon because it was a Nazi free alternative to Twitter. I chose my instance because it was tech related, not politics.

It just goes to prove the fact that politics is literally everywhere and you can't hide from the problems facing society.

So if that means fighting fascists and ruining their move to Mastodon, then so be it.

It shouldn't take Gab joining the fediverse for developers/admins to take platform safety seriously.

So, I've been thinking. And you're all right. Neutral will never bring on change.

#FLOSS is riddled with the "we must stay neutral" mentality, this creates a problem in this space, it simply isn't safe for minorities to participate in a lot of the conversations.

This means being neutral isn't neutral at all.
