I spent the weekend playing with the open API [1] that Calyx [2] and Riseup [3] use for their desktop VPN client. Had issues running the source code on Pop!_OS 19.10, so I wrote a (s)crappy Python script for generating a config file to use in any OpenVPN client (plus got to learn more about Python).

@freddyym I couldn’t get Bitmask’s Linux client to work on Pop/Ubuntu 19.10 but regardless, server location/port/protocol isn’t configurable for any provider via the GUI (from what I can tell). With an ovpn file though you can configure these specifically if you want. But if the client works for you, I’d stick with it.
