Brilliant idea about “salting” your critical passphrases.
“When you go to log in to the website, have the password manager autofill the password it has and then add the salt before pressing the login button.
If for some reason your password manager is breached the real password is not exposed.”
@markosaric I've seen the exact same headline on two completely seperate sites. It's absurd.
@markosaric also a lot of it is for SEO, of course, but it slightly defeats the point.
I'm tempted to write my own piece on the matter, just because I haven't really seen anyone cover it well.
> By client journalism I mean journalism as decoration of power, or court reporting. The opposite of independent journalism.
@markosaric It's what some like to refer to as client journalism.

Tech journalism is interesting! For Cloudflare announcement, all stories just repeat the press release. No questions asked, no investigation done, no research into the current market, no comments from Google, no thoughts from GA users whether it could make them switch... 🤷♂️

“It has been over a year since I cancelled my Cloudflare account. They keep emailing me and haven’t taken me off their marketing lists despite repeated requests. Their CTO told me he would investigate, but nothing changed. Their Data Protection Office hasn’t respond to my requests. Cloudflare do not appear to respect the GDPR.”

Are there any @lineageos users trying to use the #NHS #COVID app? I keep getting this message (paraphrased):
"This app can't run on this phone. This could be because it's a company phone or a similar app is causing interference." Any ideas?

@albi it's still under copyright, so if they use one line of code from it they could be in serious legal trouble.
