Oh no.
So the Giga-CDN that MITMs most of the internet now automatically sends a copy of your site for archival?

Some bad news for folks who are fans of #uMatrix. It's being archived and no longer being developed :
github.com/uBlockOrigin/uMatri

Can't say I didn't see this coming since maintaining a plugin, particularly as an open source project, is often a thankless job with many personal down sides

I hope it can still continue, if not as uMatrix, then as something else. I really don't like to fiddle with uBlock Origin to get the same functionality

you know, after using a couple #gemini browsers i'm starting to really form a new opinion on one part of article design

i think

- resizing the window to select a good line length is stupid
- authors trying to set the line length to a value they've tested out as good is also stupid
(much less including the exact font they tested with so this won't break)

- there should be a zoom scale in gemini browsers to set line length in em for each page, exactly the way zoom works

Recently, we removed Firefox Send because of security concerns and they took the service down. Today, they announced Send is dead.

We will also be removing Lockwise because Mozilla keeps killing projects after adoption, causing headaches for users.

Follow recommendation for all the #FuckOffGoogle'rs and #DeleteFacebook'ers:

@snopyta

snopyta.org/

Their motto is "self host all the things!" which is obviously a great way to stay away from #GAFAM.

Among many many other things they host #invidious #nitter and #bibliogram. Three services to access content from #Youtube, #Twitter and #Instagram without sending any data to #Google, #Twitter or #Facebook.

@strypey that would be really interesting. I could see this being used in a similar way to reddit AMAs. If we could have online debates between teams or groups of people that would be awesome !

From Tristan Harris, co-founder humanetech.com:

"The Social Dilemma" has completely popped and gone viral:

#3 in Top Movies in U.S. across Netflix.
#6 in Top 10 across all Netflix categories.

Best way you can help spread the word: Host a screening with friends who are less likely to hear about the film.

The film makes concepts of #surveillancecapitalism and #privacy infringement we all know about, accessible to a broader public, in a way they feel impact personally.
