Let's use fund pools to sponsor FOSS! Who will manage them? The historically most oppressive company against FOSS. And screw those who avoid github for ideological reasons.

Between the existing solutions, Flattr seems like the closest to your vision.

After watching the 60s video on Snowdrift, I took away that if you don't pay as much as the rest of the group, you stop paying. That doesn't seem like a great way to entice people to donate. Hopefully I've misunderstood it.

@gray I love what the creator of Flattr has done with both IPredator and especially Njalla, however Flattr doesn't hit the nail on the head. Hopefully it gets better though...

@yarmo could @codeberg implement something like this with the same effect? I hope so, but im not sure...

@freddy @yarmo @codeberg it would be great if it was decentralized somehow, maybe using gnu taler (I'm not sure if it would work, maybe other software is better fitted), so that projects didn't need a centralized entity.
