But I am excited about it. I’ve been getting less and less comfortable with Reddit.

Does anyone here use Aether? Seems like there’s no way to use a browser version of the service...
This is a bummer, because I feel like it needs to be able to fit in peoples’ pockets if it’s going to catch on.

MacarOONS and MacarONS are two different things! Two different words?! Did everyone else know this was going on?!

@ben_dw James Damore had some great suggestions in his memo, that could be applied to many things. But he was Google so idk if we should trust it šŸ¤”šŸ¤ØšŸ˜„

Also if this instance stays basically the way it is, which is polite, friendly, and a welcoming resource, I think that as popularity and concern for security/privacy continue to rise, more people of all types will continue to come.

I remember being on AIM back in the day and people often responding ā€œholaā€ when I’d say hey. I mistakenly read it as ā€œhollaā€ and thought I was getting a lot of attitude.

Maybe that’s why it says that? I don’t think the Apple Store labels ā€œadsā€ or ā€œno adsā€ outright like Play. But maybe I’m just missing it. Anyway, maybe it’s because of their new advertisement model their trying to push for, or because it’s the internet and there’s known to be ads out there.

Is there an admin here on privacytools that also can help out with the writefreely instance?

Do you see my toot that says ā€œThis is a testā€? I don’t see it under ā€œLocalā€ šŸ¤” @nikolal

Okay so upon reading that, it does not sound liking tooting, so that only one’s own local instance can view the toot, is a thing...correct? @nikolal

But that looks like I’ve only posted on my page when I do that. @nikolal

I applaud writers/composers who use the "pay what you can" model for digital distribution. It allows content creators to be compensated for their work while also making sure the information is accessible to the financially underprivileged.
