Up until now, the government has had unfettered access to search travelers’ electronic devices when they enter the U.S.
Going forward, the judge said, searches must require reasonable suspicion—a much higher standard—that the devices contain contraband.

Each time somebody tell me "you can't teach #programming to everybody" I instantly see them like Amenhotep, son of Hapu that carefully explain to me like I was five: "You can't #teach #writing to everybody".
It's exactly the same.

@croqaz I don't know how you would see it but maybe it would be similar to how editors allow you to view rendered HTML.
@atticus Some of the opinions if AI were a little optimistic, such as the ease of automating white-collar jobs, but overall, I found the documentary interesting.

@croqaz This might be useful if integrated with an IDE although I tend not to use IDEs or the full power of IDEs. I use markdown for my documentation and todo list and put them in the code repo, however I don't ever process the markdown. I merely view them and edit them in the editor. This seems to work on my small projects that I work on by myself.
@jonah I remember once, I was downloading a copy of Ubuntu Linux and Firefox gave me a warning that someone was doing a man-in-the-middle attack. At that point I was very careful to authenticate the downloaded file and believe that Firefox prevented the attack. The take away I think is that regular people get targeted by malicious people and we need FOSS that is independent that organizations like Mozilla provide.

People: Black and brown people were screwed out of land and wealth.
Joe Rogan (Caveman Comic): Someone should do a study before I can agree to that.
@kravietz Nuclear may be a stop gap measure for the next century or two but there is only so much uranium and plutonium. Eventually we have to switch to renewable clean energy sources.
@kravietz I wouldn't want coal plants anyway because of carbon emissions. I wouldn't want nuclear in my backyard when there are clean energy alternatives.

This is a pretty compelling reason. Esp. if you are writing open source code.
@kravietz Nuclear power results in nuclear waste which is then dumped in poor states.
