Hotspot sheild: You are injected with ads mid app and although logs are not kept the amount of information collected makes up for this.
Hide my ass: When your data is handed over to authority, you know your ass has not been hidden.
Opera vpn: Dude, where's my encryption?
Onavo: Everyone knows about facebook loving privacy.
Touch vpn: When your vpn keeps logs and doesn't have a website... STAY AWAY.
Kaspersky vpn: when I think privacy I do NOT think Russia.
@Mremail I have long stated "hide my ass? More like expose my ass!".
It's not that difficult to setup your own VPN anyways, which you can use to control logs. A cheapo little VPS, plus a bit of time learning... Sure you need to get a legit VPS host but those seem easier to find than good VPN providers...
@eddiemoto @Mremail There are some lovely projects out there that make getting started setting up the VPN muuuch easier. Open source setup scripts, easily auditable.

Used it to slap up a quick and dirty VPN when I was travelling. Paid $7 for a VPS, used my phone data to ssh in and set things up, and shortly had a working conf that my laptop and phone could use simultaneously.
