This seems like a very sustainable method of adding Mastodon to keybase.

@kylerankin The human mind can delude itself into believing anything to justify that fat paycheck at the end of the month.

Besides, some companies make it explicit that "if not you, there are others".

Employees all the way up to the CEO can easily justify unethical actions because the corporation is responsible for those actions and not them personally, conveniently forgetting the fact that corporations are just abstractions, not natural persons.

Venting

It's very frustrating arguing with people who refuse to understand physics.

I once spent several days arguing online with someone who absolutely could not understand that you cannot accelerate an object with mass to/past the speed of light.

They kept saying things like "faster than the fastest light" as if light can vary in speed. I explained that this is not the case several times. I explained the exponential increase in energy per speed several times. They still refused to understand.

it's almost like transportation is a societal good that doesnt inherently need to make money and is actually critical infrastructure that supports human existence or something

@jmawork the rosé reminds me of the Karbach DayMaker, of course since DayMaker is a rosé beer.

The sage #plants are already looking much happier than they did 10 days ago. Less purple! I'm glad I cut them back as both SO's mother and @GwenfarsGarden advised me to do. 😄

getting folks pumped about decentralization

As I'm doing research around mesh-networking, I'm thrilled with its possibilities for fostering community & undercutting monopolistic ISPs. Decentralized technologies are so cool! However, I have a hard time convincing my folks IRL about this (I had to launch a whole campaign to just get them to join Signal!). Then it occurred to me: WE NEED A BLOCKBUSTER MOVIE ABOUT DECENTRALIZING THE WEB. A Matrix or Hackers for our brave new world.

git tip

I have this one repo at work that I have a *lot* of branches for, and I'm terrible at cleaning them up when I'm done with them

listing them by alphabetical order is almost useless, if I don't remember the branch name then there are just too many to remember which one I want

so I learned about `--sort`, now I can see which branches I've committed to most recently:

`git branch --sort='-committerdate'`

I want to learn perl 6 but I really only have room for one gigantic programming language in my head and I already know rust
