We are proud that our tools can serve the LGBTQ+ community, particularly in places where it is dangerous to be out.

This June and year round, the Tor Project stands in solidarity with the LGBTQ+ community.

@amydentata @mal yeah, true. I was mainly suggesting that b/c I feel like what you’re looking for isn’t a thing yet. I also don’t known *anything* about copyright law so hopefully you can make it be a thing?

@amydentata @mal actually just republishing under CC-BY or the most permissive copyright possible after one year might also work? It’s definitely interesting that that’s not really an option.

@amydentata @mal Elon musk is *ok* not *amazing* to be clear but this is not bad.

"A defiant Manning told Judge Anthony Trenga in a federal district court in Alexandria, Virginia, that she would “rather starve to death” than do what the state insisted and give testimony before the grand jury."

@gen@berries.space aaaaaahhhhh they're so adorable

@muppetbutler@cryptids.online amazing plan 🎇

@clarjon1 @oct2pus idk whether i’m understanding y’all’s conversation correctly but i feel like mastodon.social/explore is an ok kinda-solution? b/c it lets users opt-in to being listed on an instance-wide list per hashtag, i.e. social.privacytools.io/explore which lets you explore tags and lets users control whether they want to be listed on the list

@Wetrix my family has always been really into gardening, with *lots* of rose bushes growing up, and i’ve had lots of experience maintaining and adding to that (and lots of weed-pulling). I’ve been at university for the past two years though and have been missing my horticultural side — so I finally decided to embark on the journey

@blacklight447 yes i’ve tried it out once or twice though not recently

OCR Output

@clarjon1 😂 it took the last four bananas of the first row as 3)33!

the centrality of twitter in peoples socials circles encourages using it against the way its designed because micro blogging is an inherently limiting format. It also tends to make these posts more terse and combative because people need to save every word. (2/im not actually going to do this)

Honestly i kinda just wish we could take the formats that social media platforms present more seriously. Twitter makes people terse and give a lot of pauses, tumblr encourages collaborative posting for better (building upon something OP has said either for comedy or for the betterment of the message) and worse (public mockery of the OP, possibly for something they really shouldn't be mocked for). Mastodon is less terse but still encourages people to still make a lot of content inappropriate for it because its so seemingly central to discussion for them. Threads are also Opt-in so there is an improvement because twitter because it makes broadcasting posts people hate higher effort and it doesn't encourage you to riff on a poster for funny man points (people do anyways because we've been taught to do that tho).

Pleroma is Mastodon if I had quite a lot of words, this post is already past 2k characters. I can really express myself on this platform. Its not perfect because it does broadcast peoples replies to the federated/public timeline which can be an information overload and it can encourage you to get involved in discussions (for again, better and worse).

Being tired is not a badge of honor. It doesn't make you more worthy, it just means you're tired.

also the way mastodon (and i believe pleroma) hide content besides notes (what AP calls short form formatted text) on the timeline to a link does sites hosting platforms like write.freely so dirty. You're making the content require you to leave the platform to even sample properly. A little teaser of what the post is about couldn't hurt. God there are so many cool ways you could show this. I esp blame Pleroma because that wide ass single column could be very good for displaying a write.freely post.
