I love the clouds โ˜๏ธ but I would never store my passwords there.

@croqaz I stay away from all cloud services. Period.

I'll control my own day tyvm ๐Ÿ˜Šโ˜๏ธ

@Wetrix That's a good idea. Sometimes is impossible, but we have to try.
Eg: where do you store all your photos of your family, since forever?
Where do you keep backups of all your projects?
How do you keep in touch with friends from FB or Twitter?

@croqaz all these I find are doable without the cloud.

I keep all photos etc stored on hard drives with backups.

I don't use Shitbook. Don't use Twitter. Anything made by Google or Shitbook I stay far far away from lol ๐Ÿ˜‚

The thing to realize is that these cloud services aren't doing a single thing you can't do yourself. All they're doing is backing up your data. You don't need them for that.

@croqaz also they are also a million times more likely to be hacked then you are.

Let's see. Hack PayPal or random Joe Blow?

There's no money or incentive for hackers to hack individuals. They're looking for a payday like credit card breaches.

That fact alones makes not using cloud services infinitely more secure.

@Wetrix I totally agree with everything you're saying, but playing the devil's advocate.
I have all my backups on external drives and build my own sites.
I also very much believe in decentralized services, that you can run yourself.

@croqaz yeah me too. I've watched the internet go from being born with the promise of freedom, to being locked down and corporatized and dominated and abused by a handful of giants just like every other industry.

Google, Amazon, Shitbook and apple.

Decentralisation and cryptography is our only way of regaining the original promise and potential the internet had.
