@TheDoctor
@ThreeBadgersInATrenchcoat Hi i'm not well versed in tech. I have come across a claim that Android and Apple users' location are tracked by Google and Palantir respectively using wifi triangulation ( wifi promiscuous mode) which can't be stopped unless you turn off your phone. The solution suggested was to shift to Linux phones such as Librem 5, Pinephone etc. which have wifi kill switches. Is this far from the truth?
Wearing a balaclava in my city will raise suspicions as it's a city with a warm climate. I came to know using black paint in certain parts of the face will reduce facial recognition technology from recognising me. However i feel this would raise suspicions.
I would also like to know what are the threats to privacy if facial data is available in the hands of the government and private agencies
@jonah Please help me
On instagram a friend of mine has posted a group photo in which I'm also a part of, however i wasn't using Instagram and i wasn't tagged. Is Facebook's facial recognition still a threat to privacy in this case too?
@jonah Can you help me? I'm new to this whole privacy thing and a bit confused.
In public places excluding protest sites such as shopping malls, metro transit should i wear glasses that emit infrared light to prevent facial recognition technology in CCTVs from scanning my face?
If a friend of mine has tagged me on a Facebook post (photo) when i had a Facebook account and i deleted my account later, will Facebook's facial recognition technology still have access to my facial data? If that's the case should i ask my friend to delete the photo or switch off facial recognition in Facebook settings

Thank You for letting me know ☺️
hi I'm new to this whole privacy stuff. Is anyone using Signal (messaging) APK? Is it advisable to read the entire privacy policy of apps that i use. I find it time consuming and confusing coz apps collect information about me from other sources too Is it necessary to protect my privacy? Should i start living like a hermit using a dumb phone or sending postal letters to communicate with others?
I have checked out Terms of conditions didn't read but there isn't much information available on apps that aren't popular
