https://alternativeto.net reports https://github.com/davidhealey/waistline as an open source alternative. Looks like the last updates were 4 months ago and last closed issue was 9 hours ago so pretty active. Doesnt look like an apk is provided it but you can build it. I'm going to try it.

Yep thank you, found it too though the dates on github and f-droid for the last release vary despite having the same number
