visited a forum that I used to be super active on
the site itās attached to has been a shambling corpse for quite a while now, it got bought out by someone that wanted to reuse it for spammy advertorials. 8 months ago was the last actual article, 9 months ago was the last actual news, and 15 months ago was the last actual review (from a PC hardware review site, no less)
the forum was basically ignored by the new owners, though
last time I looked in there a few months ago, it was⦠still moving along, even if there was clearly nobody new
this time⦠itās still there, the old mods and admins were never removed when the site was sold and are still cleaning up spamā¦
but the actual discussion is basically the old regulars lamenting the death of the forum, one super chuddy regular trolling their invite-only religion and politics subforum (which he was doing before the decline of the forum, too, but heās not even getting many bites any more, because of regulars slowly disappearing), and the odd person that stumbles in and has an actual technology question
I donāt know why itās even so sad that a forum that I drifted away from a while ago is dying this way, butā¦
