Mhm, looking into buying a new phone. Thing is: My current phone is running LineageOS in a quite restricted setup, that makes me reasonably sure that, besides my mobile carrier and everything related to SIM cards, it's very privacy friendly and there is nothing on it that would hook me into the surveillance machines of Google, Apple or similar.

Looking into the current phone option, given that I need full featured signal on the device, doesn't make me very optimistic :/

So I was doing my research tonight and somehow I'm throwing out more options than I add.

Too expensive, bad reviews, no backups/integration, outdated OS, no lineageOS available, …

I guess, I would try to go without a phone for a year, if I wouldn't literally need one to stay in contact with important people.

Such a mess.

@sheogorath go with a used phone? The OnePlus 6, for example, has a headphone jack and Lineage. Don't know about repairability.
