Something you (someone) could do to help solidify the vision of a simpler Web:

Survey what small-tech browser engines are out there? I know of Rhapsode (duh), Lynx, Dillo, Netsurf, & Weasyprint.

And Survey what subset of The Web Standards they support?

This could serve as the basis for a forked Web Standards, outside of the overwhelming Google (and Apple+Mozilla) influence at The W3C.
