I love the concept that @aral talks about - about having your own "place" on the web and adding pieces of required functionality to it.
As opposed to separate services and domains per function - i.e. a mastodon; a peertube; a pixelfed. (even though those things are still awesome)
I'm going to try and develop a similar concept in....don't laugh....PHP.
Mainly because I want to start building things for people and right now that is my only competent language. 💚
