🚗 I'm involved in organising a hackweek in April for https://trustroots.org - kind of an open source and free alternative to couchsurfing etc, that came out of the hitchwiki project (so lots of hitchhikers on it...).
👭 it kind of represents a bit of a reboot of the project, to get more active team again. and we're keen to make it more community-driven...

@micahflee hey @micahflee we are having a discussion whether privacytools.io should provide a securedrop or not. As we currently rent our servers, we are unsure if it would be the right choice to adopt it, would you be willing to give us some input here ? :)

@Piratenpartij wist niet dat jullie tegenwoordig op op mastodon zaten. Netjes!
So what are we currently working on you ask? Well we have a few things you can look out for to roll out over the next months:
-redoing our jurisdiction page.
-giving all our service pages a proper criteria list so you can see why they are listed.
-rolling out our mediawiki page which will include a glossary to explain all technical terms on the main site.
Very excited to make these things happen soon :)

As more users turn to Tor, the network needs to scale to match the demand.
Thanks to Zcash Foundation for helping fund our scalability solution, Walking Onions, with a grant to help the Tor network scale in a meaningful way.

When ISPs or governments block access to the Tor network, people rely on bridges to connect.
With BridgeDB, we tackle the problem of how to get bridges to censored users while making it difficult for censors to get bridges.
BridgeDB 0.9.3 is out now.

The cases against Julian Assange and Glenn Greenwald may be models for a crackdown https://www.nytimes.com/2020/01/26/opinion/greenwald-brazil-reporter.html
We are currently discussing at #privacytoolsio about how we can handle potentional conflicts of interest. Say a team member gets a job at a company which software is listed/wants to be listed, how do you ensure integrity in the best possible way? Interesting problems to think about.
