@cypherpunk @privacytools those will be covered in a blog post that i am still writing.
@hrthu @jaiden4079 You should retry, tor has become a lot faster. you also have to use a one hop service, that way you get all the security goodies and better performance, but you lose your services anonymity.
Ive just published my next blog in the Slicing onion series. This one is about how Tor relates to vpns and other tech. And its called: Onion recipes; VPN not required.
I hope you all enjoy it, and be sure to give feedback if you have any :)

As second step, make sure you have a privacy policy and people can find it. It's also about informing people (and it's a legal requirement since GDPR for most services anyway).
Tip: When your privacy policy is longer than 5000 characters you are probably doing something not so private.
I recommend to create a Table that lists all information you process, the places process those data and the implicates by that as well as the reference to the law that makes those things legal.
@nyvoter I would like to have a creditavle source for that ridicoulas claim, lmao.

We've got big news.
After months of work, Tor Browser is now stable on Android.
Tor Browser 8.5 brings the highest degree of privacy and censorship-circumvention available to Android users. https://blog.torproject.org/new-release-tor-browser-85
@espectalll @one thats the power of open source, you don't like it? Fork it, and do it yourself :).
@jaiden4079 ssh over tor v3 onion service with client auth, lets go.
@switchingsocial@mastodon.at Wheter is "secure" completely depends on once threatmodel, i wrote an article on that:
https://write.privacytools.io/my-thoughts-on-security/how-to-choose-a-secure-messenger
Its a step up from sms, but seeing how it has god awfull homegrown encryption, doesn't use end to end encryption by default, and doesn't even support e2e for groups or desktop, makes it god damn awfull in my opinion.
@BurungHantu big oof
@supernova @JoshuaJosephson Haven't checkee, it was just a mere observation.

@BurungHantu Well thank you :)
@jj well currently Briar does not allow you to remotely add contacts, which is rather crappy for usability. However, the dev team is currently hard at work to make this work in a few months. After that, briar will likely replace ricochet.
