What do you get when a spoiled princess with a money allergy puts together a 'cheap' PC build? RIP 1500 euro. πŸ’” πŸ’Έ

CPU: AMD Ryzen 9 3900X 3.8 GHz 12-Core Processor
Motherboard: Asus ROG Strix X570-E Gaming ATX AM4 Motherboard
Memory: Corsair Vengeance LPX 1 x 32 GB DDR4-2666
Storage: Sabrent Rocket 1 TB M.2-2280 NVME SSD
GPU: MSI GeForce GTX 1660 6 GB VENTUS XS OC Video Card
Case: Corsair 275R ATX Mid Tower Case
PSU: Corsair RM (2019) 750 W 80+ Gold Certified ATX Power Supply

Also, if anyone knows; do I need a CPU cooler with this?

@Gina lol yes you do. I'd recommende liquid cooling, but it'll be a tad bit more expensive.

Also, your RAM is too slow. You CPU supports 3200.

@newt I'm definitely not doing liquid cooling, I barely know how to put a normal pc together. πŸ˜‚

What do you mean by the RAM is too slow?

@Gina @newt cooling shouldn't be an issue, but he is right that you should get two sticks instead of one, and be careful to put them in the right spots to use the dual memory channels.

And with Ryzen you should be getting faster RAM, 2666 is going to slow things down a bit since Ryzen really needs fast RAM to shine

@Matter @newt Hmmm, not to put you guys to work, but do you happen to have any examples of RAM that would be better? I'd love to have 4x 32GB in the very far future, but to start with 1x 32GB for now.

@Gina
I have ended up with 2x16 gb ecc ram from kingston @2400 as ecc ram is not sold faster as the spec of ddr4 is only rated up to 2666mhz. Thos as o inderstamd it it abosulutly recomended to get fast ram. I only use thos kit as i got it fpr free. Ecc is kinda pointless on my system.
@Matter @newt

@Twelve @Gina @newt although I'm not sure why you want to go for 4x32, what kind of workflow are you thinking of that would need more than 64GB of RAM?

@Matter @Twelve @newt I need Goat Simulator to FLY. 🐐

Nah you're right, 64GB is overkill, 32GB is fine.

@Gina @Matter @Twelve @newt

There is no such thing as overkill, when discussing computer specs.

Well, Sycamore would probably be better fit for her. But thanks for confirming the point :)
