A *long* time ago they used to be called a super-racist "negerboll" (negro ball. I know, right?). I vaguely remember it being called that when I was very young, but that we also switched around that time.
That was 30 years ago.
People still argue that "it's always been called that!"
@kungtotte ha we used to have the same thing with a chocolate treat called a 'negerzoen', which translates to 'negro kiss.' Crazy how acceptable that once was. They changed the name only about 10 years ago.
@Gina @kungtotte they changed the board game " de kolonisten van catan (the colonists of catan) to just "catan" for the same odd reasoning.
