We're working on adding colors for folders in CryptDrive (github.com/xwiki-labs/cryptpad) and trying to decide on a color palette.

While there are lots of resources available for choosing small palettes which are accessible to people with colorblindness, we're having trouble finding larger ones (16-20 colors) which are still pleasant enough that people won't yell at us for being bad designers.

Can anyone point us in the right direction?

A member of our team installed the "let's get colorblind" extension for firefox: addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firef

It gives you an idea of what different people will see, but doesn't go so far as to offer a preconfigured set of colors that people could adopt.

For example, I know if I want to choose a font which will be easier to read for people with dyslexia I can use opendyslexic.org/

From what I can tell there's no ready solution for accessible color palettes.
