Ended up swapping out the hardware we were using for #pfSense router.
There were some hardware issues, probably having to do with an iffy memory module, but also the external USB ethernet adapter was a weak point, too.
Switched to a Dell Optiplex 380 SFF with gigabit ethernet on the board for the LAN interface and a 3com low profile ethernet 10/100 card that is over 20 years old for the WAN interface.
It has been working great now for a couple days. So much more we can do with pfSense #bsd
@rootbsd @retroedgetech That's funny, I actually went the opposite route. I went from pfsense, to opnsense, to just straight openbsd.
@amdac @retroedgetech What kind of speed are you getting?
@rootbsd @retroedgetech I only have a 150mbps connection and it has no problem handling that, but it's nowhere near enough for a real stress test.
@amdac @rootbsd I didn't know about opnsense. Will have to look at that.
