Finished Pale Fire. Brilliant book from a technical perspective: It's a 999 line poem, and the story, such as it is, is told by the editor-slash-unreliable-narrator in the commentary to the poem. Brilliant idea, brilliant execution. So much meta.
It also made me feel β¦ off. Similar to, yet very different from Kafka. The unhinged unreliable narrator evokes a very unpleasant, unclean feeling for me, and while I appreciate the craft involved, I don't think I'll go back to Nabokov soon. #amReading
