a & b still need a server to find connect each other quickly that's all.

With programs like sync all C knows is that 2 peers it can't identify in Abu way want to connect with one another.

As far as I know sync is even more secure than signal etc because there's no server involved and no way a middle man could ever get access to anything.

When it comes to bit torrent for trackers yes this is true.

For p2p chat apps like sync this is not the case. It's actually very secure. I use it alot 🙂
