@Wetrix do not expect either of these companies to actually do anything to protect your privacy.
@mistermonster Mozilla isn't perfect but they're the best option we have for a browser atm i think.

@Wetrix there are options. The idea that Chromium is maintained by Google and therefore unusable is common but wrong. The department of the navy contributes to Tor. The Department of Defense contributes to many cryptographic protocols and tools. Chromium is open source. I can fork it and clean out all references to google anything and have a perfectly good browser that has nothing functionally to do with google. And I do, Bromite on mobile and ungoogled-chromium on PC work well. I also use Firefox, but I don't like it really.
There's also Palemoon, a fork of old Firefox that works pretty well actually.

Mozilla has all sorts of sketchy decisions, from dropping support for XUL extensions, pocket, resetting all of your privacy settings changes after every upgrade, exclusivity deals with Google, the list goes on.
