@ethicsperoxide unusual for Mozilla to be in the news like that π
@Wetrix I know! I used to feel so smug about using Firefox haha
@ethicsperoxide I still love it π€
I was reading a good article and there's really no alternative. Brave supports the Google monopoly by using chromium, and there's no really good alternative, so supporting Mozilla is still the best move we can make ππ
@Wetrix @ethicsperoxide If you're ever looking for an alternative, I've been using UnGoogled Chromium for the past month or so and can't recommend it enough. It has innumerably stronger security than Firefox, its faster, doesn't take half an hour to configure for privacy and is good ootb, is entirely open source and is developed largely by the community, etc etc. It also has everything Google stripped out, so no need to worry about contributing to Google or telemetry or anything.
@ThreeBadgersInATrenchcoat @ethicsperoxide I will look into it thx!
@Wetrix Eh, the fixed version was released a couple of weeks before the bug is published. Not really a big security issue.
The thing is, some people did not update from 68.11 to 79 on Android, because 79 has some big limitations in extensions and config. But people should be aware not updating includes some risk.
@Wetrix Uh oh
